Introduction:

Coomassie Blue Fast Staining Solution is a coomassie-dye reagent for staining of proteins on polyacrylamide gels. It can be used for rapid staining of protein electrophoresis gels such as SDS-PAGE gels and native PAGE gels, and can also be used for the detection of residual proteins on PAGE gels after western transfer, which can detect protein electrophoresis bands as low as 100 ng in only 1 hour, while conventional methods take more than 3 hours.

Storage: Store at room temperature, valid for 1 year.

Protocol (for reference only):

1. Take the gel out after electrophoresis and put it into about 50-100 mL of distilled water, wash the gel with gentle shaking for 3 minutes.
2. Decant distilled water and add a sufficient volume of staining solution to completely cover the gel, and microwave for 60 seconds or until solution is about to boil. Do not let solution boil to evaporation.
3. Place it on the shaker and incubate for about 20-30min.
4. Decant the staining solution and add destaining solution to completely cover the gel, then microwave for 60 seconds.
5. Place it on a shaker and destain for 20-30 min.
6. Repeat step 4 and step 5 once.
7. Decant the destaining solution and add an appropriate amount of water, after which you can take pictures and record.

Notes:

1. The purpose of washing the gel with distilled water after electrophoresis is to remove interfering substances such as SDS in the gel. Insufficient removal of SDS will result in high background.
2. Microwaving the gel and staining solution together can greatly speed up the staining process. However, boiling should be avoided during heating to avoid gel fragmentation caused by bumping. 
3. This staining solution is acidic and slightly corrosive. For your safety and health, please wear personal protective equipment and clothing for operation.
